Garfield Pumpkin Carving
A different challenge this year but manageable after all - adding pumpkin extensions? Outlining the pattern looks surprisingly good and suits the animation style but how to add more pieces to the pumpkin head?
Thanks to William’s idea, sketching isn’t too difficult but how do I add the ears the best way?
“Viola” there they are! Ear pieces are carved from the back of the pumpkin !
By swapping the carved/split sides, they look like cat’s ears. With the skewer sticks, they can be held on the top of the pumpkin head.
Three different carving heads are used to create the shades and refine the details. A knife is essential for poking through the peel and cutting out the chunks.
A mask is also essential for pumpkin carving 😂 (That’s the Covid mask on my face)
Day and night presentation… and I just realized the cut-out hole in the back!!
Now it’s better by blocking the hole with a piece of orange color paper.
With all mini pumpkin collection and LED candles, the front door Halloween pumpkin set is complete!
